⚠️ Avoid Alexandros Makris Apartments – Unprofessional and Potentially Unsafe Rental Process Review: I am an incoming student at the University of Nicosia, and I was in contact with Alexandros Makris regarding one of his listed apartments for rent (Apartment 503). Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and raised serious red flags: • I was asked to pay rent months in advance to a foreign bank account in Jordan, not in Cyprus or the EU. • The rental contract included a landlord and legal representative who were never involved, and I was denied any direct contact with them. • Key legal documents such as the power of attorney (Annex A) and proof of property ownership were missing, despite being referenced in the contract. • The contract contained unfair clauses that gave the landlord the right to terminate the lease with no warning, keep the full deposit, and avoid liability even if they re-rent the property for more money. • When I politely asked for a few reasonable and legal adjustments, I was dismissed aggressively and told to look elsewhere. Alexandros refused to provide legal clarity, protection, or transparency. His tone was rude, unprofessional, and clearly aimed at pressuring students into signing one-sided, unsafe agreements. If I had signed, I would have had no legal protection. ⚠️ I strongly advise future students and tenants to avoid any dealings with Alexandros Makris or his properties. If your university, advisor, or accommodation portal recommends him, please ask for alternatives and demand proper documentation and safe legal processes.
